Concept has been steadily developing a strong presence in the Asiatic market, and for good reason - the Wellness and Spa Industry there seems to be growing with every passing day. With this in mind, we need to take every opportunity to make the connections and partnerships that will keep us ahead of the competition. So, the recent SpaChina Summit and Awards was a can’t-miss event for us, promising a great chance to expand our network and showcase our brand.
Early in September, Rosewood Sanya hosted the 11th annual SpaChina Summit. As usual, Concept not only wanted to be present, but also to make sure we stood out to an exclusive gathering of Asiatic spa professionals, owners and investors. We looked upon our three days there as the perfect place to reach out and engage with potential clients, partners and influencers – and we wanted to make sure we had the perfect team present to match it.
Chenhui Zhang, Concept Asia Pacific Product Manager, and Daryl Gabin, Concept Business Development Manager attended the event and worked hard on both chasing new leads and reinforcing our existing network. Between meetings, all attendees were free to visit our space where they could talk face-to-face, our hands-on demonstrations showing them why the Concept Spa module is the best choice for their business.
Chenhui and Daryl fielded barrages of questions with professional expertise – which led to some very interesting contacts with great potential moving forward. This was also a great way to start laying down the meaningful foundations for a strong brand presence in the region – capturing the attention of many of the visiting attendees. By the closing hours of the opening day, they already felt they had started some valuable pre-negotiations.
Later that evening, there was an 80s-themed cocktail party facilitating some informal socialising – and another great opportunity to build client-relationships and better understand their businesses. The highlight of the event though was the SpaChina Awards 2018 Gala Dinner – the “Blue Ocean Night”, a ceremony intended to honour the leaders and innovators in China’s spa industry across 6 categories: Spa, Treatment, Concept, Product, Grand Jury/Reader and Global Awards. We were extremely proud that our own Daryl Gabin was asked to present the award for Spa Chain of the Year – which was deservedly won by the Ruby Spa.
Another year in attendance, another resounding success, now it’s our job to make sure all their hard work pays off by following on from these leads - and turning them into our next steps in a market that is fast becoming one of our most valuable interests.
