There is always a need to grow new business, and as part of our continuing worldwide expansion, it is crucial that we continue to create promising new leads and discover where the most attractive partnerships may be made. One of the most effective means of doing so is with a strong presence at reputable global exhibitions, making sure that we not only further develop our network, but that we are also visible upon the most celebrated international stages. Early this month, Concept looked to build on 2017’s successful debut by returning to London for the WTM 2018. This year, we wanted our days there to yield even more leads and networking opportunities.
Taking place at the Excel, WTM – Travel Forward brought industry professionals from every corner of the global travel trade together under one roof. The assembled guests and exhibitors represented an incredibly diverse representation of the travel industry as a whole – facilitating meetings between innovative tech providers and key decision makers. It was an opportunity to meet senior executives face-to-face and enrich future business with promising new contacts. Concept started work on preparations for the event months in advance, developing strong marketing materials, designing a well-branded stand and prearranging meetings with potential clients.
This was also a landmark event for us, being the first that would showcase Concept as a Shiji Group Brand, giving us the perfect opportunity to promote awareness of our new branding. As a part of the Shiji group company, Concept would be able to stand alongside our fellow Shiji companies as part of a broader, innovative network of technology solutions of interconnected systems.
Over the three days of the event, visitors to our stand took many forms: attendees who were just curious about the company, those who want specific information about our products, companies interested in striking a partnership with Concept and actual clients who took the chance to find out more about our latest developments, etc. The variety of these enquiries demonstrate that with effective marketing and branding shows like these can produce opportunities that could easily have remained undiscovered.
Resort IT Managers, Safari General Managers, Spa owners, Golf Course General Managers were all met by our team, who learning their wants and needs, were able to explain, in person, how Concept (and other Shiji companies) could prove invaluable for their business. Our stand was able to demonstrate the Concept Golf and Spa module features as well as the upcoming Pantry Hotel Retail Solution – Booq POS. Our demo iPad, for example, allowed interested visitors to browse through the Spa & Membership iPad App at their leisure. Now, following another successful event, we look to the job of following up on this wealth of contacts and spin them into what we always hoped to achieve from WTM - new clients and new projects.
Reflecting on another fantastic year at the WTM, we are already considering how to improve for next year! How to create an even better presence and build even more prospects as we continue always looking forward, excited at the prospect of returning in 2019 for the WTM’s celebratory 40th anniversary. Where, as at the WTM 2018, Concept will be aiming only for excellence.
The only problem this year was finding the time to talk with everyone who reached out to us! If you didn’t get the opportunity to meet us at the WTM - contact us today with any questions you may have, and we will get in touch with you as soon as possible!
