Concept Software Systems attended the 11th Annual SpaChina Summit

For the third year running, Concept Software Systems (CSS) were delighted to attend the Annual SpaChina Summit in Chengdu. Running from the 14th to the 16th of September, this spectacular event attracts spa professionals, owners and investors from across Asia – with every leading spa product and equipment brand represented. This year we were hosted by the Fairmont Chengdu, which greeted 270 fellow leading industry insiders who travelled from 17 countries to give the event a truly international feel.

It also meant that professionals from both home and abroad were able to deliver a variety of insightful presentations that touched on major issues within the industry…with the China spa market of particular interest. SpaChina Editor-in-Chief Fifi Kao was able to brief the audience on the current spa trends in the Chinese market; Samantha Foster, Director of Destination Spa Management, advised on how to enable capable operation solutions whilst still creating innovative spa resort experiences; and Laurent Boillot, CEO of Guerlain, shared the story behind the company’s exciting new Chinese-French brand, CHA LING. All the while, the event saw Watsu demonstrations, workshops, cocktail parties and a whole lot more. As the summit gathered pace, The Awards Ceremony celebrated the regional industry by granting prizes to 38 top leaders and innovators in China’s spa community.

As the only spa software supplier at the Summit, Concept was ideally positioned to use our three days there to explore the wealth of opportunities to bolster Concept’s Asian networking - whilst also learning more about the trends and development of the Spa industry not just in China, but the whole of Asia. Attending the event on behalf of Concept was a key team made up of Roman Horwarth, Director of Sales & Marketing; Chenhui Zhang, Product Manager; and Gonçalo Santos, Account Manager. A hectic weekend of lectures, workshops, cocktail parties, demonstrations, panel discussions and healthy lunches were all ideal networking events – and proved ideal opportunities to consolidate Concept’s already strong network within the market.

Of interest were presentation topics highlighting aspects of the Spa Industry from some leading voices in the industry. From reviews of Spa and wellness development and methods of healthy ageing to the survival of Hotel Spas and the promising new opportunities for spas in the booming China cruise business, there were many important talking points for Concept to reflect upon.

At the SpaChina Awards 2017 Gala Dinner held on Saturday, Roman Horwarth had the honour to announce and present the “Most Striking Spa Product of the Year Award” to Phytomer for their revolutionary City Life Face & Eye Sorbet Cream. On an evening where the leading lights in the spa industry were rewarded for innovation and excellence, Concept can feel proud to be represented on such a reputable stage.

Concept considers this event, and others like it, a fantastic boost to both Spa businesses and their suppliers, being such a huge communication platform. This is why CSS committed to take full advantage of SpaChina, using our time there to promote our brand to new clients while simultaneously expanding our network of partners and contacts in the Chinese Spa market. Because with such an attractive market to explore, who could afford not to?"
